Sanatanaa for kids
Terms of Service
Effective October 1, 2026
The short version
- Your subscription renews automatically at the listed price (monthly for Starter and Family, yearly for Year of roots) until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime before your next billing date and you won't be charged again.
- Our letters are educational and cultural, written for kids and the adults who read with them.
- We mail to U.S. addresses only. New Jersey law applies.
1. Who we are
These terms are an agreement between you and Sanatanaa ("Sanatanaa," "we," "us"), operated from Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. They cover sanatanaa.com and the Sanatanaa letter subscriptions you buy from us. By subscribing or using the site, you agree to these terms.
2. Who can subscribe
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Subscriptions are bought by adults (parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other family and friends) for children. If you're sending letters to a child who isn't yours, please make sure their parent or guardian is happy for them to receive mail from us.
3. Plans and prices
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $18 per month | One letter a month for one child. |
| Family | $36 per month | The same monthly letter in up to three separately named envelopes, all mailed to one address. |
| Year of roots | $168 per year, paid up front | Twelve monthly letters for one child. |
Prices are in U.S. dollars. Any tax or other charge is shown at checkout before you pay. We may change prices in the future. If we do, we'll email you before the new price applies to your subscription, so you have time to cancel if you'd like.
4. Automatic renewal (please read)
Every Sanatanaa plan is a subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. When you subscribe, you authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method:
- Starter and Family: the listed monthly price today, then again every month on the same day of the month.
- Year of roots: $168 today, then $168 again every year on the anniversary of your purchase.
Charges continue at the listed price until you cancel. Your checkout page and Stripe receipt show your plan, price, and billing date.
5. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel anytime. See our Cancellation & refunds page for how cancelling and refunds work.
6. Welcome offer (WELCOME20)
The code WELCOME20 takes 20% off the first month of a new Starter or Family subscription. After the first month, your plan renews at the full listed price. The code doesn't apply to Year of roots and can't be exchanged for cash. We may change or end the offer for new signups at any time, but we'll honor a discount already applied at checkout.
7. Mailing and the Early Launch
Sanatanaa is in its Early Launch, in time for the festive season. First letters begin mailing during the festive season, and later letters mail monthly. We don't promise delivery by any specific date or holiday. Our letters are printed and mailed by a print-and-mail partner and delivered by the U.S. Postal Service. See our Shipping and Delivery page for details.
8. About our content
Sanatanaa letters share stories, reflections, and simple practices from Hindu tradition. They are meant for education and cultural enrichment, for kids and the adults who read with them. They're one family-friendly way into a very large and varied tradition, not the final word on it, and they aren't professional advice of any kind (medical, psychological, or otherwise). Any activities in the letters are meant to be done with an adult's help, and you know your child best.
9. Our content and your use of it
The stories of Hindu tradition belong to everyone. The way we tell them (our text, illustrations, designs, the Sanatanaa name and logo, and this website) belongs to Sanatanaa and is protected by copyright and trademark law.
You're welcome to read, keep, and share your letters at home, with family, and in your own classroom or community group. Please don't copy, scan, resell, or republish them (including online) without our written permission.
10. Things we can't promise
We work hard on every letter, but the site and letters are provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, we don't make promises beyond what these terms say, including about exact delivery times, which depend on the Postal Service.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Sanatanaa won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from the site or your subscription. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that can't be limited under applicable law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Bergen County, New Jersey, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere. Before anything formal, please email us. Most problems can be fixed with a quick note.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Sanatanaa grows. When we do, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects your subscription, such as a price change, we'll email you before it applies to you. Continuing your subscription after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
14. Other policies
Our Privacy Policy, Cancellation & refunds page, and Shipping and Delivery page are part of these terms.
